The function of the Agency for the Welfare of Asylum Seekers (AWAS) is the implementation of national legislation and policy concerning the welfare of refugees, persons enjoying international protection and asylum seekers. In practice, AWAS manages reception facilities, provides information programmes in the area of employment, housing, health, welfare and education, and promotes government schemes related to resettlement voluntary returns.
AWAS also acts as a facilitator between public entities responsible for providing services to ensure that national obligations to beneficiaries of international protection and asylum seekers are accessible and encourages networking between relevant local voluntary organisations in Malta. It also advises the Government on new developments in its field of operations and draws up reports for policy-making bodies.

Job Description
The Administrator – Services will be responsible to:
- To assist the Senior Manager- Services, Unit Leader or appointed delegate in planning and implementation of daily work
- Manage referrals of the respective units
- Staff meeting minutes of all Units.
- Administration and managing filing systems when needed-Age Assessment and Vulnerability Assessments
- Keeping records of Vacation Leave and Sick Leave of Units Leaders under Services and other related documents related to such and liaising with HR.
- Statistics related to Age Assessments, UMAS and Vulnerability Assessments
- Carrying out other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time by the Senior Manager- Services, Unit Leader – UMAS Protection and Unit Leader – Services

Requirements:
The minimum Requirements are:
- Possession of a Diploma Level 5 (minimum 24 ECTS) or comparable diploma as highlighted in the collective agreement and 2 years’ experience in migration.

- A comparable Grade C or above nomenclature and 4 years’ experience in migration or welfare setting.
or
- 6 O’ levels and 4 years relevant experience in migration or welfare setting.
Applicant should be fluent in both Maltese and English.
All candidates must have proven knowledge of IT skills.
