Assistant Psychological Officer

A call for the position of Assistant Psychological Officer within the Psychological Service Team on a definite basis is being issued .

Duties the Assistant Psychological Officer is responsible for are:

  • Identify psychological, emotional or behavioural issues.
  • Diagnose psychological, emotional or behavioural disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
  • Help clients define goals and plan action to achieve personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment.
  • Monitor client progress through regular sessions.
  • Carry out assessments, prepare reports and keep updated recordings.
  • In sensitive situations, to accompany the beneficiary during their medical appointments concerning mental and physical health.
  • To make the appropriate referrals to both internal and external resources for the complete development of the beneficiary.
  • Keep statistics and keep databases updated.
  • Participate in meetings with other professionals and in case conferences/ reviews.
  • Provide support in delivering information sessions about the service provided by the team.
  • Conduct research
  • Provide outreach-programming services for the residential community.
  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Serve on committees as requested.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices, emerging trends and new legislation
  • Be available to provide crisis intervention for emergencies, as needed.
  • Participate in institutional professional development and training.
  • partaking in administrative duties in relation to one’s own work
  • Administration of the day-to-day formulation.
  • Actively working in cooperation with government ministries, entities, and nongovernment organizations.
  • Ensuring health and safety of beneficiaries and staff.
  • Working in liaison with all the staff engaged with the beneficiaries.
  • Carrying out any other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time by the Senior Psychologist and/or the Agency.

The minimum requirements are:

  • Covering letter and detailed CV
  • Certificates
  • Valid Police Conduct
  • Two/ three references
  • Must be fluent in English language.

Applicants should hold a First Degree in Psychology. Applicants holding such a degree from a foreign University must present an MQRIC equivalence.  Applicants holding relevant experience over and above these qualifications will be given preference.

Salary:

The salary for the post of Assistant Psychological Officer in the year 2025 is equivalent to €30,824.00 per annum.
