A call for the position of Psychologist within the Psychological Service Team on a definite basis is being issued .
Duties the Psychologist, is responsible for are:
- Identify psychological, emotional or behavioural issues;
- Diagnose psychological, emotional or behavioural disorders;
- Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes;
- Help clients define goals and plan action to achieve personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment;
- Develop, administer and monitor appropriate treatment therapies and strategies;
- Monitor client progress through regular meetings or sessions;
- Support and intervention during the crisis;
- Assess clients’ needs, abilities or behaviour using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of their behaviour;
- Monitor appropriate treatment programmes, including therapy, counselling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues;
- Offer therapy and treatments for issues relating to a range of mental health conditions;
- Develop and evaluate service provision for clients;
- Provide consultation to other professions, encouraging a psychological approach in their work;
- Serve as a member of the transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary team;
- Participate in institutional professional development and training;
- Partaking in administrative duties in relation to one’s own work;
- Administration of the day to day formulation;
- Undertake research and write reports;
- Ensuring health and safety of service users;
- Maintaining confidentiality of clients’ treatment and records in accordance with HIPAA. Participating in clinical training seminars and mentoring assistant psychologists, psychology students and interns on site.
- Working towards positioning the agency as a pioneer in psychological interventions.
- Working in liaison with all the staff engaged with the service-users;
- Review and endorse the reports of the Assistant Psychologist Officers
- Carrying out any other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time by the Unit Leader and/or the Agency.
Minimum Requirements:
The individuals applying for this post shall possess a master’s degree in any of the following:
- Clinical Psychology and hold a warrant to practice the profession of a Psychologist in Malta. or
- Counselling Psychology and hold a warrant to practice the profession of a Psychologist in Malta.

- Two/ three references
- Must be fluent in English language.
- Applicants holding relevant experience will be given preference.
- Applicants in possession of a foreign qualification/s are to produce with their application, a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC).
Salary:
The salary for the post of Psychologist in the year 2026 is equivalent to €33,610.00 per annum.
