Psychology Practitioner

A call for the position of Psychology Practitioner within the Psychological Service Team on a definite basis is being issued .

Duties the Psychology Practitioner, is responsible for are:

  • assess and identify the beneficiaries’ problems and needs. Carry out assessments, develop and implement care plans, prepare reports as needed and keep updated recordings;
  • to make the appropriate referrals to both internal and external resources for the complete development of the beneficiary;
  • keep databases updated appropriately;
  • to have and maintain a good filing system;
  • conduct workshops/services designed to address the needs and/or problems of beneficiaries;
  • serve as consultant to other professionals on matters relating to the well-being of beneficiaries, and other programs;
  • participate in meetings with other professionals and in case conferences/ reviews;
  • provide supervision/training to trainees and assistant psychology officers and keep updated records as appropriate;
  • provide outreach programming services for the residential community;
  • serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team;
  • maintain awareness of best practices, emerging trends and new Legislation;
  • be available to provide crisis intervention for emergencies, as needed
  • participate in institutional professional development and training;
  • partaking in administrative duties in relation to one’s own work;
  • actively working in cooperation with government ministries, entities and nongovernment organizations;
  • casework with individual beneficiaries as well as group sessions;
  • delivering psychological intervention and therapy;
  • working in liaison with all the staff engaged with the beneficiaries;
  • carrying out any other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time by the unit Leader and/or the Agency.

The minimum requirements are:

  • Covering letter and detailed CV
  • Certificates
  • Valid Police Conduct
  • Two/ three references
  • Must be fluent in English language.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Psychology at MQF Level 7 in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (subject to a minimum of 120+ ECTs). Applicants holding such a degree from a foreign University must present an MQRIC equivalence and will lead to the attainment of a recognized warrant/licence in the county of study.

Salary:

The salary for the post of Psychology Practitioner in the year 2025 is equivalent to €32,890.00 per annum.
