The Welfare Officer (MAU) will be responsible to:
- Assist clients in integration requirements, design and document all processes as per complexity requirements;
- Provide support to all users and assist said unit to ensure compliance to all service users requirements in relation to information provision;
- Actively participate in meetings and write-up reports related to migrants’ skills development;
- Work in conformity with the procedures as laid down in the manual of procedures;
- Work in liaison with other staff, NGOS, volunteers and professionals working with migrants including but not limited to IOM, Integration Unit, MEDE, UM and MCAST;
- Provide information in relation to Assisted Voluntary Return and Relocation (AVRR);
- Maintain confidentiality, boundaries and a professional approach at all times;
- Discuss and work in liaison with the communications coordinator in terms of any information sessions organized within AWAS reception facilities;
- Be knowledgeable on areas of policy in relation to this field of work;
- Help achieve specific goals for the upkeep of the said unit;
- Develop the best communication skills to understand service users’ needs;
- Keep abreast with all local/ international projects issued in terms of asylum seekers and AWAS;
- Ensure adherence to standards of care withing the relevant quality framework.
This job description may vary from time to time according to the exigencies of the Agency. The employee may be asked to carry out other tasks or duties as may be determined by AWAS Senior Management and as may be determined by national emergencies.
The minimum Requirements are:
A recognised bachelor’s qualification at MQF Level 6 (Subject to a minimum of 120 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent, with regards to programmes commencing as from October 2003) in a Social Science subject or any recognisable comparable professional qualification. Bilingual job candidates are a plus. Also, a recent police conduct.
